All the three prisoners were under judicial custody after being arrested for separate crimes involving loot and theft, a Deesa (North) police station official said.

The escaped prisoners were identified as Pravin Rana, Arvind Rajput and Maheshgiri Goswami, they said.

"Three prisoners managed to escape from the jail premises by cutting the iron grill fixed on terrace between 6 AM and 6.45 AM," the police official said.

While Pravin and Maheshgiri belonged to Deesa, Arvind hailed from Rajasthan, and they were arrested on charges of loot and theft, they said.

The trio had entered into a criminal conspiracy to jointly execute escape plan, said police.

District police have tightened security along the exit points and check posts and were carrying out an operation to nab the escaped prisoners, police said.

Investigations are on to find out if others assisted them in their escape, police said.
