Three Hizbul Mujahideen militants, allegedly involved in the killing of a National Conference leader, were arrested here today, police said.

The trio had allegedly shot dead NC Shopian Town president Abdul Rehman Watchku on August 25 while he was offering evening prayers in a local mosque, a police spokesman said, adding that the Imam was also injured in the incident.
    
One AK-47 rifle used in the offence and a pistol with ammunitions have been recovered from the arrested militants identified as Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh, Mukhtar Ahmad Tantray and Jehangir Ahmad Malik, the spokesman said.
