After holding the three accused - Pappu alias Pankaj, Mukhtar Khan and Nagendra as guilty in the 2014 abduction- cum-murder of Vivek, Additional District Judge Ishwar Chandra Chaturvedi slated July 31 to sentence the convicts.

While convicting the trio of abducting and killing the son of former BJP Mahila Morcha national president Renu Sinha, the court, however, acquitted Pankaj's wife of the alleged complicity in the case for want of evidence.

The three convicts had asked Vivek to meet them at a place under Rajauli police station area on April 23, 2014 to discuss his loan application but they abducted him to Dhamni forest area and killed him.

The convicts had also extorted Rs four lakh from his family to hand him over to them but did not keep their word.
