Three extremists of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) were arrested and explosives and arms recovered from them in Assam today, in a continued crackdown against the outfit in the state and neighbouring Nagaland.

Official sources said one NDFB member Sugan Damiary alias Thelka was arrested at Rowta in Udalguri district by the army and a pistol and 500gm of explosives were recovered from him.

Based upon information supplied by Damiary, the army launched an operation in Rangiya town where two other NDFB cadres Sunil Bora and Ramoni Boro were held. One pistol and three rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.

In Nagaland, 14 NDFB ultras were arrested in Mon and Dimapur districts yesterday.
