Third Front as an alternative to Congress and BJP failed to convince people about its chances to form a stable government at the Centre, CPI(M) admitted on Sunday.
    
"The people refused to accept Third Front as an alternative to Congress and BJP for a stable government," CPI(M) West Bengal State Committee said in a release after a day-long meeting here.
    
The parley, at which chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose were present, discussed threadbare the reasons for the party's debacle in the state in the Lok Sabha elections.
    
The party admitted its isolation from the people and stressed on re-establishing contact with the masses. "We have to take proper steps to enhance people's faith and trust."
