Thefts were committed in two adjacent flats in Kanak Kala apartment in Satellite area late on Sunday night. The thieves, surprisingly, didn’t break any lock in both the flats. Police suspect insiders’ hand in the burglary, in which the outlaws escaped with cash and valuables worth Rs4 lakh. “It appears that the locks of both the houses were opened with original keys,” said a police officer.

According to the Satellite police, the thefts took place between 11:30 pm and 12:30 am in the morning. Separate complaints have been filed by the flat-owners. In his compliant, Bhavesh Fichadiya said the criminals escaped with valuables worth Rs1.67 lakh from his flat. According to complainants - Fichadiya and Ravindra Sanghvi - both of them were not in their flats when the incident happened. Fichadiya had gone to attend the opening ceremony of a jewellery shop of Sanghvi when the thefts were committed. According to them, when they returned after attending the ceremony, they found that their flats had been burgled. Satellite police are investigating the matter.
