Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said his government has stopped terror attacks in the country as terrorists are now being killed in their homes.

Addressing a rally in Haryana's Rewari, Modi said, "Earlier there used to be bomb blasts in the country, did they stop or not? Now, terrorist are being killed by entering their homes. Those who nurture terrorism are crying in front of the world.''

In an indirect jibe at the Congress, he said the erstwhile government didn't do enough to curb terrorism and strengthen the country's armed forces. Prime Minister added that his government took definitive steps to boost the army's morale and add to the security apparatus of the country.

''After coming to power, we started a mission to strengthen our forces. Today, advanced submarines to advanced fighter aircraft like Rafale, they are part of our armed forces,'' he added.

Haryana goes to polls on October 21 and the counting will begin on October 24.

Earlier in the day, Modi addressed another rally in poll-bound Haryana where he blamed the earlier Congress government for not acting on Kartarpur corridor.

"The distance and the obstacles between the holy place of our Guru Nanak Dev - Kartarpur Sahib and us, is now going to be eliminated. The helplessness to watch it through a pair of binoculars, for 70 years, is now being eliminated," Modi said.

Blaming the Congress Government for not being able to complete the Kartarpur corridor when it was in power, PM Modi said, "The Kartarpur corridor is almost complete now. This opportunity has come seven decades after independence, 70 years went by. What can be a bigger misfortune than this that we had to see a holy place from afar, through a pair of binoculars?"

"Were people responsible to mark line of partition in 1947, didn't think that devotees shouldn't be kept away from Guru by 4 km? Should Congress government not have made an effort to eliminate this distance? Congress and parties affiliated to its culture never respected Indians' culture." PM Modi added.

The corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur with Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and facilitate visa-free movement of Indian pilgrims, who will have to just obtain a permit to visit Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, which was established in 1522 by Sikh faith founder Guru Nanak Dev. The corridor will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on November 8.
