Tension in village after labourers told to stay off farms

Tension rose between farmers and labourers as the panchayat banned the labour class
from entry into fields in Mogli village, 55 kms from here, police said here on Monday.

Following this instruction from the panchayat, the labourers had refused to work in the fields as the farmers did not raise the daily wage to 120 rupees from 100 per day,
police said.
 
Though there was palpable tension in the area, police had increased security to prevent any untoward incident, an oficial said. Meanwhile, coming to the support of labourers the barber community has decided to not cut hair of the farmers.
