At a Government High School in Nalgonda, nearly 150 students have reportedly fallen ill after having their school lunch on Monday. Out of these, more than 20 were stated to be critical.

A report in Deccan Chronicle says that students were allegedly fed rotten vegetables and dal that was spoilt. This resulted in food poisoning.

After lunch on Monday, nearly 150 students began to complain of headache, vomiting and stomach upset. 20 students are reportedly to be in a critical condition and have been admitted to the district hospital.

The reports adds that students are blaming the cook in the school for given them spoilt food. They have also alleged that teachers’ food was prepared separately. 

The AP Balala Hakkula Sangham has reportedly condemned this incident. President of AP Balala Hakkula Sangham Anuradha Rao has stated that “concerned DEOs should be made responsible and criminal cases should be booked against them”.
