Telangana Transport Minister Mahender Reddy said that such measures would create problems for smaller states and suggested that existing state government machinery should be strengthened.

Speaking on Road Transport and Safety Bill 2014, Reddy opined that measures must be initiated to strengthen state government mechanism for better control of vehicles and road safety, instead of repealing the existing Motor Vehicle Act 1988.

Briefing reporters in Hyderabad the Minister also said that he has urged Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to approve the establishment of a separate road transport corporation for Telangana called as Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
