At a time when the demand for separate Telangana is questioning the existence of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the party’s president and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu seems to have found a way out. He is all set to stir up the “Telugu pride” once again.

“The current leadership of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh has lost its focus and direction. It is the Congress leadership in Delhi that is using a remote control to manage the state and the party. This is a great disrespect to the Telugu pride. They (the Congress leaders) have completely surrendered the Telugu pride to their leaders in Delhi. The TDP will start fighting against this and restoring the pride of the Telugu people,” Naidu said while delivering the valedictory speech at the three-day party plenary meeting titled “Mahanadu”. In its 30 years of existence, the party founded by NT Rama Rao in 1982, has never been so confused.
