Salman was recently in Colombo with his 'Kick' co-star Jacqueline Fernandez after accepting the invitation by Rajapaksa's son Namal, to campaign for his father.

"Salman Khan down down," the protestors shouted holding placards condemning the superstar. The demonstration, outside Salman's Galaxy apartments in suburban Mumbai, lasted nearly ten minutes and later police detained some protestors.

A protestor told reporters that the demonstration was to oppose Salman's move to campaign for Rajapaksa as the Lankan Army and its president were allegedly responsible for killing Tamilians during the nation's 26-year old civil war. A police officer present at the demonstration site said 10 to 15 people have been taken into custody.
