Seven deaths due to swine flu were reported in Maharashtra today, taking the number of disease-related deaths in the state to 99.

"Seven deaths were reported today, one each from Thane, Raigad, Pune, Nashik districts and three from Nagpur," Public Health Minister Dr Deepak Sawant, told PTI.

So far, there have been 911 cases and as many as 39 people infected by the H1N1 virus are on ventilator, the minister said.

"Total number of patients discharged is 521 while 291 are still in hospitals. 61 new cases have been reported," Sawant said.

Meanwhile, Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration Harshadeep Kamble had yesterday said that hospitals in the state, both government and semi-government, have sufficient stock of swine flu drugs which are available for free.
