The moment of glory for Gujarat has finally arrived. The state is all set to celebrate its golden jubilee on May 1. Excited citizens from across the state have come forward to take part in the yearlong celebrations which will commence on Friday evening with the Jaynad — Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat.

As a prelude to the D-day extravaganza, as many as 2,500 NRGs from different countries will come together to perform in Sapta Rangi Gujarat, a programme depicting the state’s rich cultural heritage. It will be held on Friday at the Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad. Each participant will be presented a Gujarat Golden Jubilee Kalash by chief minister Narendra Modi.

The Jaynad will be organised in 18,000 villages, 159 towns and seven municipal corporations across the state.
