The order to this effect was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) of Maharashtra government today.

Kshatriya, a 1980 batch IAS officer, has been the Chief Secretary for the last two years. He had served as the Principal Secretary in Chief Minister's office during late Vilasrao Deshmukh's tenure.

He had also served as the Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Principal Secretary of the state Revenue department.
