Shirsa Rathod darted out of the court room as soon as he was granted bail by the Judicial Magistrate First Class in afternoon, before the Konkan Railway Police could take his custody in a theft case.

Interestingly, Rathod was granted bail in a theft case lodged against him by the Verna police who produced him before the JMFC.

According to a senior police officer, the Konkan Railway Police were supposed to take Rathod's custody to investigate him in the theft case.

"The accused was so swift that even before the police personnel could think what was happening, he was out of the court premises," he said, adding that a search is on to trace him.
