Recently, Swaraj promised to aid an unidentified Sikh man who works in Saudi Arabia. The man posted a video explaining that the company where he has worked for nine years, owes him 35,000 rial (approximately Rs 6.2 lakh). The man's son, who also works, is yet to be paid 17,000 rial (Rs 3 lakh). The man said that his foot is injured and all his money either goes towards medical expenses for food bills, adding that if he didn't receive proper medical attention then his leg would have to be amputated.

The video was retweeted by Swaraj with the message, "Sardar ji - Maine apki poori baat sun li hai. Hum zaroor apki madad karenge."

Soon after, the Indian Embassy in Riyadh also tweeted, asking for help contacting the man.
