Surat youth faces rape charge after eloping with teenage girl

According to the police, Rajkumar alias Kumar Rajput 22, a resident of Amroli, and his 'wife' Sujatha (name change) 15, a resident of Gayatri nagar in Amorli, fell in love with each other.
They fled from their respective houses two weeks back. Later on, Rajput, a labourer at a jari factory in Surat took Sujatha to his native at Khemania village in Uttar Pradesh and married her despite her being a minor.
The duo even held a reception of their marriage.
Meanwhile, Sujatha's father lodged a complaint with Amroli police station, alleging Rajput of abducting and raping his girl. The police traced the duo in Uttar Pradesh. Rajput was arrested.
