"This is a very good decision and is a major move in fight against corruption. This will now make all future CBI directors very careful of how they behave," Swamy said.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court had asked Ranjit Sinha to recuse himself from overseeing the 2G scam case probe while adding that the second senior-most officer in the investigating team case should take over the case.

The direction came after 2G case Special Public Prosecutor Anand Grover told the apex court that Sinha had interfered in the case.

Earlier, advocate Prashant Bhushan and the NGO Centre for Public Interest Litigation had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Sinha, seeking his removal for allegedly compromising investigations into the 2G and coal block cases.

To support his allegations, Bhushan had presented to the court a visitor's logbook of Sinha's official residence as evidence and claimed that Sinha used to meet people associated with the scams during the investigation of the same.
