Supreme Court convicts 2 Brit nationals in paedophilia case

The Supreme Court today convicted Brit nationals Duncan Grant and Alan John Waters and Indian national William D'Souza in a paedophile case. Grant and Waters were awarded six years of imprisonment while D'Souza was sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment for abetting the crime. Grant, Waters and D'Souza were charged with sodomy and sexually abusing five minor boys in the Anchorage orphanage in Mumbai.The Bombay high court had acquitted the two British nationals on appeal of the 2006 convictions related to sexually abusing children at the Anchorage orphanage, set up and run by Grant over many years. Citing lack of evidence by the prosecution, the appeal courts have failed to recognise the children's testimonies.
