The director general of police Kuldeep Khoda on Saturday reviewed the security for the May 13 polling in Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency and said that no "anti-people and anti-social elements" would be allowed to create hurdles for people in casting their votes.

"Police and security agencies have taken measures for ensuring a conducive environment for the people to exercise their franchise without fear and intimidation," Khoda said after reviewing security situation in three districts - Bandipora, Baramulla and Kupwara - forming the constituency.

"No anti-people and anti-social elements will be allowed to vitiate a peaceful atmosphere and try to create any hurdles for people to cast their votes," the police chief said.

Separatists have given a call for poll boycott in the constituency.

Khoda also held separate meetings with the senior police officers and was briefed about the measures taken to ensure free and fair elections.
