SHIMLA: Baba Ramdev’s prediction of a short life ahead for himself gained ground among his devotees when a ‘suspected’ man was arrested for breaching his security at Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.

Just a few days back, the controversial yoga guru had said in Ludhiana, “With the kind of mission I have, I don’t think I am going to live for long now.”

A man identified as Gaurav managed to enter the helicopter in which Ramdev and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister VB Singh flew from Chandigarh to Hamirpur on Saturday.

The chief minister expressed serious concern over the incident and assured fool-proof security to Ramdev during his stay in the state. Singh said that the security lapse was due to confusion as the security personnel presumed Gaurav was a member of five-member group of Ramdev while Ramdev’s men mistook him for a security person.

Ramdev attributed the incident to misunderstanding. He said he was “satisfied with the security”.

Police recovered fake identity cards of media organisations and security agencies from Gaurav’s possession. However, so far his links with any militant organisation has not been established.
