Taking a dig at opposition parties and indirectly addression West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's United India Rally in Kolkata, PM Narendra Modi called the 'gathbandhan' a move against India.

PM Modi is on three day visit to Gujarat that included addressing the 2019 edition of Vibrant Gujarat Summit, inaugurating the howitzer gun-manufacturing unit of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at Hazira in Surat among other things.

After laying the foundation stone for a medical college in Silvassa, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, PM Modi addressed the crowd and said, "My actions against corruption have infuriated some people. It's but natural for them to get angry as I've prevented them from looting public money. Consequently, they have now formed an alliance called Mahagathbandhan."

According to ANI, he pointed out that there is still no concrete foundation to this alliance being attempeted by opposition parties.

In his trademark style, PM Modi took a jibe at various heads of political parties gathered in Kolkata and said, "Jab loktantra ka gala ghotne wale loktantra ko bachane ki baat karte toh desh ke munh se nikalta hai 'wah kya baat'. (People who strangled democracy in the country are talking about saving it.) No matter how many alliances they make to save their dynaties, they cannot run away from their deeds.

Apart from hitting out at 'Mahagathbandhan,' PM Modi also made sure to count the achievement of his government in the last four and half years. He said, "Education, employment, healthcare and farmer's well being are the pillers the governement has built its development on."

He also talked about how the rural and poor India has benefitted from the Aayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana, and Vandhan Yojana.

PM also assured the people of Dadar and Nagar Haveli that the government is working on getting the union territory on the tourist's map and bring development to this part of India.
