Stop referring to PM Modi as 'Rockstar', says Shobhaa De; faces ire of social media
Taking to micro blogging site, Shobhaa De on Monday night tweeted, "Can we please stop referring to India's Prime Minister as a 'Rockstar'!!!! Hello! Dubai. He isn't from Bollywood!"
Columnist Shobhaa De, who is known for making controversial comments on micro blogging site Twitter has invited ire of Narendra Modi's fans for her remarks on PM's UAE visit.
During his address in the Dubai Cricket Stadium, the enthusiastic Indian disapora lauded Modi terming him 'Rockstar' and said that he is bringing India on a new level.
Taking to Micro blogging site, Shobhaa De on Monday night tweeted, "Can we please stop referring to India's Prime Minister as a 'Rockstar'!!!! Hello! Dubai. He isn't from Bollywood!"
Modi's speech was punctuated with the chants of 'Modi Modi' which the packed stadium erupted into, every time he paused. The crowd cheered the Prime Minister as he praised the NRIs for their praiseworthy conduct and their perseverance in everyday endeavours.
Addressing the Indian diaspora Modi said, "I can see a 'mini India' in front of me. I salute all Indians, who have come from every corner of UAE. You are among those who are earning livelihood here for 15-20 years and continue to make India proud through your conduct, Prime Minister Modi said while addressing the Indian diaspora.
