Sri Lanka's President Maithripala Sirisena who is on a four-day official trip to India will meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi on Monday.

He will be ceremonially welcomed at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and will pay homage to the Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. His meeting with Prime Minister Modi will be structured both in terms of a restricted format as well as delegation level talks.

Both the leaders are expected to take steps to scale up economic cooperation between the two countries. After the talks, some agreements are likely to be signed in the field of culture, people-to-people contact and agriculture.

On Tuesday, the Lankan President will travel to Bodh Gaya and later to Tirupati. The President is expected to depart from Tirupati for Colombo early on Wednesday.

This is President Sirisena's first overseas visit after assuming office.
