NEW DELHI: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday condoled the death of 11 pilgrims in a stampede at the famous Mahakali temple in Gujarat.
 
She conveyed her condolence to families of those who died in the incident and wished speedy recovery to those who are injured.
   
Gandhi has asked the state PCC president to visit the spot.

The Congress president has also urged the Centre to assist the state government in handling the situation.
 
Eleven devotees were killed and several others injured in the stampede at the temple atop Pavagadh hill.
  
The stampede occurred between devotees who were coming down the hill and those who were climbing their way up.
