Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Thursday said the socialist movement has succeeded in Uttar Pradesh and youths have played an important role in this.

He was addressing party workers after paying tributes to former union minister and SP leader Rama Shankar Kaushik on his death anniversary.

Mulayam said youths strongly protested against the harassment by the previous government and even faced police torture. He claimed that even Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was misbehaved with.

He said socialists have a grand history and they were the ones who struggled for socio-economic and political change.

He said he had a long association with former minister Kaushik, who was a good orator and defined socialist policy very well. PTI AVA PG MNS 11291947 NNNN
