NAGPUR: The three heavily-armed terrorists killed while attempting to attack the RSS headquarters here, have been identified as Pakistanis, CID sources said here on Friday.

"They were identified as Afzal Ahmad Butt and Abu al Kalam Alad, both from Lahore while the third ultra was Mohammad Usman Habib from Gujranwala in Pakistan," a top official of state CID told PTI.

"Their identity could be established on the basis of seized diaries" where names were written in Urdu along with their telephone numbers of respective places, he said, adding their links with Islamic militant organisations was, however, yet to be ascertained.

When contacted, Additional Director General of Police and city Commissioner of Police, S P S Yadav told PTI, "We have no information (regarding their identities) since we have not received possession of dead bodies and materials (diaries) seized from them".

Regarding ownership of the white Ambassador car used by the terrorists and the identity of the 5.6 kg high explosive recovered from the vehicle, Yadav said "we are expecting definite information later on Friday".
