Skip Kabul, Nepal: ICPA tells pilots
The Indian Commercial Pilots Association has asked its 660 members to refrain from flying to Kathmandu and Kabul in the interest of safety of passengers and the crew.
After the Directorate General of Civil Aviation served notices to four private domestic carriers for violating norms at the Dabolim airport in Goa and asked the airlines too to de-roster some pilots for the same, the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) has asked its 660 members to refrain from flying to Kathmandu and Kabul in the interest of safety of passengers and the crew.
On April 13 the ICPA, a union of Air India (AI), had asked its members not to operate flights to Kabul. Similarly, on April 18 the ICPA asked its members not to undertake flights to Kathmandu. When contacted, the spokesperson for Air India said safety of passengers and crew is of paramount importance to them.
“We are 80-year-old airline and there is a flight safety department which will guide regarding the operations of flight,” the spokesperson said.
