Here’s a piece of good news for those seeking admission at Delhi University under the Kashmiri Migrant and Armed Forces (Children /  Widow) quotas for the four-year undergraduate programme: they don’t have to rush across colleges for getting there registration forms as the university is providing them a centralised form.

Admission through these two quotas does not take place with general admission process, since this quota is over and above other reserved category. Students can fill their choice of college and course in one form, unlike students applying under sports and ECA quota who have to fill separate college forms for admission.

However, students under these quotas can apply through the general process. “These students can apply through the general process also. But if they want to get admission under the quota they should register separately,” said Ram Dutt, deputy registrar of Delhi University.

While 5% seats in each course have been reserved for the Armed Forces (CW) candidates, one seat in each stream in every college has been reserved for the Kashmiri migrants.

This year, till now, 57 applications have come under the Armed Forces (CW) quota and around 60 students have applied under the Kashmiri Migrant quota.

Students applying under Armed Forces quota have to provide a certificate of educational concession issued by a competent authority like the Kendriya Sainik Board, Rajya Sainik Board and Ministry of Home Affairs.

“Last year, 134 students were admitted at various colleges under these categories,” a University official said.

For students applying under the Kashmiri Migrant quota, a certificate of registration as Kashmiri migrant and a proof of property in Kashmir at present are required.

The admission list will be out on July 10, official of the university informed.
