Sheena Bora murder case: After complaining of chest pain, Indrani Mukherjea discharged on Saturday

Indrani Mukerjea, a key accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, was discharged from JJ Hospital on Sunday, a JJ Hospital spokesperson said. 

Earlier, she was admitted after complaining chest pain and discomfort. 

The 46-year-old was admitted in the critical care unit (CCU) ward and is being kept under observation. However, her condition is stable and shall be discharged by Sunday.

According to the doctors, her condition is stable now and she is facing age-related spondylosis problem on the left side of her body. She was admitted due chest pain and uneaziness.

“Her chest X-Ray is normal and ECG reports showed mild changes due to which she underwent 2D Echocardiography (2D Echo) test,” SD Nanandkar JJ Hospital’s dean reported. 

“2D echo examination is normal. Additionally, there was a complaint of discomfort, we also conducted her chest x-ray. The chest X-Ray report is normal. While she was continuously complaining of chest pain, she was admitted to CCU ward under Dr Wiqar Shaikh. She is also facing pain in the neck. Suspecting vertebral problem in a spine, MRI of the cervical spine has been done. The reports are awaited. The cardiologist doctor has advanced for a stress test for a detailed examination of cardiac involvement.” Dr Nanandkar added. 

Mukerjea has been admitted to the hospital for the second time in two months. In April she was admitted to the hospital in a semi-conscious state. She subsequently underwent a series of clinical and medical tests. The officials from the hospital later stated that she had an overdose of antidepressants that were not prescribed. 

“Chest X-Ray was carried to rule out a major heart problem. There are no major health issues, she is conscious and stable. Cardiac problems are unpredictable so we wanted to carry out a proper medical examination,” added Dr Nanandkar.

Indrani Mukherjea has been accused of killing her daughter, Sheena Bora, and disposing her body in a forest area in the Raigad district in April 2012.  Mukherjea has been lodged in Byculla women’s jail currently.
