The NCP chief Sharad Pawar and the chief minister Prithviraj Chavan met at Sahyadri Guest House on Friday evening to discuss the payment of sugar factory workers.

However, this meeting holds had a lot of significant on the following spate between Pawar and Chavan. Pawar had criticised Chavan for his slow decision making style by making below the belt remake while Chavan immediately retaliated that he clears the public interest files, not files that pertains to individual interest. After that, chief minister even shown keen interest  to contest the Mumbai Cricket Association election scheduled on October 18 by taking the representation of Mazgaon cricket club.

Officials who were privy with this meeting told dna, the meeting was called up to discuss the sugar mills worker payment, Thane and Navi Mumbai infrastructural issues. Now, the payment of workers will be directly deposited in the respective banks. It will not be given by the sugar factory management. Besides, in Thane, the affordable houses will be constructed for the needy peoples by removing mangroves.

However, the political observer said, this sugar workers payment and Navi Mumbai infrastructure issues are just showcasing subjects to misguide the media, but real issues in the meeting must be different. "Each one knows the Pawar politics. Pawar might have wanted to understand the seriousness of chief minister proposed candidature in MCA election. So, this was meeting to fix the strategy because BJP leader Gopinath Munde is also in fray, so no one face the humiliation in the poll,” he said.
