Winter chill and shallow fog greeted the residents of the capital today as the minimum temperature dropped below the normal level.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.0 degrees Celsius, which is a degree below normal and slightly less than yesterday's minimum of 7.4.
With shallow fog enveloping the city early morning, the visibility dropped to 600 meters at 6.30am. However, the fog soon cleared away to make way for a bright day.
The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees above normal.
The temperature is expected to remain between 24.0 degrees and 7.0 degrees for the next 24 hours and the weather officials have predicted mist or shallow fog in the morning but a clear sky later in the day.
The average minimum temperature in Delhi for the month of December is 8.2 degree C and the maximum is 23 degree C.
