Shaheed Diwas History

On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were hanged till death in Lahore jail during British rule. The three revolutionaries were arrested for their involvement in the Lahore conspiracy case and a BRitish court awarded them death punishment.

Indians celebrate this day to remember the heroes who fought for the freedom of India and sacrificed their lives for the same cause. There is no denying the fact that Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are a source of inspiration for many Indians. 

The story behind the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev 

The assassination of Lala Lajpat Rai led Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekhar Azad and some others to take revenge for this. These brave men threw bombs in the Central Legislative Assembly on April 8, 1929. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were arrested from the spot and were charged for murder. In 1931, they were hanged in March 23 in the Lahore Jail.
