Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today said the services of Education Volunteers (EV) would now be placed under the direct control and supervision of the State Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Authority (SSA) instead of village education development committees.    A decision to this effect was taken by Badal in a meeting with a deputation of EVs led by its President Ajmer Singh Aulakh, an official spokesperson said here.    As many as 7407 EVs would be benefited due to the move, he said, adding Badal also announced a hike in salary of EVs.    Besides, the state government would also bear the tuition fee and training charges of BEd for eligible EVs with BA to facilitate them to complete BEd as an essential qualification under the said scheme of SSA, he said.
