Lok Sabha leaders demanded that AAP MLA Bhagwant Mann be sent to a rehab centre for drug and alcohol de-addiction on Lok Sabha's expense.
Several Lok Sabha MPs on Tuesday wrote to Speaker Sumitra Mahajan urging her to send Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann to a rehab centre for drug and alcohol de-addiction.
According to ANI, many Lok Sabha leaders including Shiromani Akali Dal's Prem Singh Chandumajra, BJP MP Maheish Girri and suspended AAP MP Harinder Singh Khalsa wrote to Mahajan to send Bhagwant Mann to a rehab centre on Lok Sabha's expense. The MPs also urged Mahajan to not allow Mann to be part of Lok Sabha proceedings until he has completed rehab.
Bhagwant Mann recently kicked off a controversy after he live streamed the security arrangements at the Parliament. In the nearly 12-minute video, apparently shot on July 21, Mann gives a running commentary as his vehicle crosses security barricades and enters Parliament. "I'll today show you something you would not have seen earlier," he says.
Mann then enters a room where questions to be taken up inside Parliament are being sorted and describes the process.
A parliamentary committee headed by BJP MP Kirit Somaiya was set up to probe the controversy which is likely to recommend stringent action against Bhagwant Mann for security breach.
