Security forces on Thursday claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Saranwa area of Kishtwar district and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition, a defence spokesman said. "Acting on a tip off, a search operation was launched by the security forces, that continued for four days," Jammu- based defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

He said, during the operation, a natural cave hideout was discovered and during the search of the cave, security forces recovered one revolver with US marking, four rounds of the revolver, three hand grenades (Chinese), one blanket, one pouch, cooking utensils, syringe and medicines.

He said the search operation in the area was still on. "This is a blow to the terrorist outfits in the area, the search operation is still on," Mehta said.
