Police bandobast has especially been beefed up in major cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat where possibility of a terror strike looms large, said police sources.

Sources also said that keeping in mind the terrorists' affection for dates 26 and 13-majority of blasts have been on these dates-senior officials in the police, who seem to be tensed about the date, have decided to leave no stone unturned in increasing security measures.

Four companies of State Reserve Police (SRP) and two of Rapid Action Force (RAF) will be deployed in city.

Police from other districts will also be called in to bolster the security arrangements.

Speaking to DNA, commissioner of police Sudhir Sinha said, "Such arrangements have been made so that no untoward incident occurs on July 26.”
