The second batch comprising 742 pilgrims today left Jammu base camp for onward journey to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas amid tight security.

The pilgrims comprising 626 men, 102 women and 14 children left in a cavalcade of 34 vehicles, including three motorcycles, from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4.45 AM today for Amarnath, police said. The convoy for the yatra has already crossed Ramban district on Jammu-Srinagar National highway towards base camps of Baltal in Kashmir valley.

With today's batch, as many as 1,902 pilgrims have left Jammu for their onward journey to the cave shrine of Amarnath.
