The Supreme Court has ruled that the government projects which have been set up for serving the public cannot be allowed to stop midway as that would further add to the people’s problems.

Within a day of allowing a power generation plant in Pune to start the spade work, the court last week also refused to disturb a water supply project under the aegis of Municipal Council Sendhwa, Madhya Pradesh.

This had been allotted to a private player M/S PC Snehal Construction but another bidder Tejas Construction & Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, which had lost the bid, raised a legal dispute on various issues including the capability of the successful company to undertake the job.

In its order, Madhya Pradesh HC dismissed the lawsuit filed by Tejas and the apex court too approved its decision.
