NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Delhi Police on a bail plea of Manu Sharma who has been sentenced to life imprisonment in the Jessica Lal murder case.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan also admitted the appeal filed by Manu Sharma challenging the Delhi High Court verdict convicting him in the case.

Manu Sharma, son of senior Congres leader Venod Sharma, was held guilty and was sentenced to life by the High Court.

The Bench also issued notice on a bail plea of co-accused Amarjeet Singh Gill alias Tony Gill, who was sentenced to four years' rigorous imprisonment for destruction of evidence.

The court issued notice on another co-accused Vikas Yadav's plea for suspension of sentence.

The Court posted the matter on their bail plea for the first week of April.
