The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a plea seeking probe into alleged larger conspiracy behind the February 14 Pulwama terror attack.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Sanjiv Khanna was hearing a PIL filed by lawyer Vineet Dhanda, seeking probe into an alleged larger conspiracy in the attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

The PIL submitted that nearly 370 kgs of RDX was used in the terror attack and it required a thorough probe.

The terror attack which rocked the country and the world at large happened in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on February 14 wherein a suicide bomber rammed his truck into the CRPF convoy.

Jaish-e-Muhammed, who has claimed the responsibility for the attack, started the planning of the attack as early as March 2018 and the process to collect RDX for this attack began back in July 2018.
