Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today expressed concern over infant and maternal deaths and called for special efforts to reduce the mortality rates.      Speaking at a function on Mothers' Day, Gehlot said that in Indian culture, parents are highly regarded as compared to western countries.      "The child becomes cultured only with the mothers' lessons, and on the day we should take oath for the safe future of both mother and child," he said.      Gehlot said his government was doing all efforts to educate women. To strengthen the girl education in the state, the government has taken several initiatives including construction of girls' hostels, he said.
