The IMC is planning to carry out a project worth around Rs 1.75 crore to avoid the problem of water-logging in adjacent localities due to overflowing of Pipliyahana Pond during rainy season.

The civic body is contemplating to lay down a pipeline to drain out excess water from the pond through a 'nullah' flowing trough Bakhtawar Ram Nagar in IMC ward 47.

The corporation has assigned the task of preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project with an estimated cost of Rs 1.75 crore. Local corporator and member in IMC Mayor-in-Council, Ajaysingh Naruka said that the task of preparing a DPR of laying down a 1000 mm pipeline from Vandana Nagar sector C to drain out the excess water trough Bakhtawar Ram Nagar 'nullah' has been assigned to Saxena & Associates and the same is expected to submit in next two days.

Great resentment among the residents was witnessed after the water of Pipliyahana pond overflowed and gushed into their houses, situated in adjacent localities, due to incessant rains during this rainy season.

Besides, Mayor Krishnamurari Moghe and the state cabinet minster, Mahendra Hardiya on Sunday laid foundations of different development works including beautification of gardens, plantation, developing a fountain and light facilities total worth around Rs 1.5 crore in this ward.

The development works were sanctioned during a meeting of IMC Mayor-in-Council concluded on Saturday.

DPR in next 2 days
The IMC has assigned the task of preparing a DPR of the project to  Saxena & Associates with an estimated cost of Rs 1.75 crore.

Saxena and Associates is expected to submit the DPR report in next two days.
