Equipment and telephone cables worth about Rs25 crore were destroyed when a fire broke out in the central store of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) at Bodh Gaya in Gaya district of Bihar today.

BSNL (Magadh division) general manager RP Tripathy said the fire, caused due to electric short-circuit, engulfed the entire BSNL store in the afternoon.

The cables kept in the store besides other sophisticated equipment, the value of which was estimated to be around Rs25 crore, were destroyed in the fire, Tripathy said.

Fire tenders of the CRPF, Airport Authority in Gaya and fire department took over four hours to douse the flames, he said.
