In a swift theft, Rs10.34 lakh was stolen from the glove box of a two-wheeler in a matter of four minutes on Wednesday in Ahmedabad. The two-wheeler belongs to one Alkesh Trivedi, an employee of CMS Infosystems Pvt Ltd, who had collected the money from various banks in the city and kept it in his two-wheeler’s glovebox.

The vehicle was parked at the company’s office. When he returned to the parking lot, he found the money stolen.The company’s manager, Dipen Choksi, registered a complaint with Naranpura police. In the complaint, Choksi stated that Trivedi had left the Honda two-wheeler in the parking lot for four minutes and gone to fetch a bag from their company office at Ansh Complex in Sohrabjee Compound in Vadaj.When Trivedi came back with the bag to put the money in it, he found the two-wheeler’s glovebox unlocked and the money gone. CMS specialises in loading cash into ATM machines for banks on contract.

The company policy says that any amount more than Rs2.5 lakh should be transported in the company car and accompanied by a security guard. But Trivedi was carrying the money in a two-wheeler. Naranpura police are investigating the case.
