AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa Sacked from Party.
Days after she reportedly got into a scuffle with a DMK MP at Delhi airport, Rajya Sabha MP M Sasikala Pushpa was Monday expelled from the AIADMK by party supremo Jayalalithaa for 'bringing disrepute to the party'.
"Sasikala Pushpa sacked from the party for bringing ill fame to the party - Puratchi Thalaivi Amma," tweeted official twitter handle of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
In a brief statement, Jayalalithaa said that Pushpa was being expelled from all party posts, including primary membership, as she had acted in violation of the party principles and ethics.
"Her behaviour has brought great disrepute to the party," she said.
"If a MP is being slapped by a leader, what is this? We should have human dignity," she said.
She further added, "I have life threat. I'm being compelled to resign from my constitutional post. I will not do it."
Sasikala Pushpa and DMK MP Tiruchi Siva on Saturday got into a scuffle with each other at the airport. Both of them were reportedly taking the flight DW-854 to Chennai. Sasikala Pushpa reportedly slapped Tiruchi Siva because he was speaking ill about the AIADMK party.
She had told TheNewsMinute: “DMK MP Tiruchi Siva was speaking ill about the AIADMK party and the cadres, so I slapped him.”
