The Railway Recruitment Board or RRB has issued notifications for fresh recruitment to 14,033 vacant posts of Junior Engineer in the Indian Railways. Through a notification - CEN 03/2018 - which will be published in December 29's edition of Employment News, the RRB has invited applications for the post of Junior Engineer.

Interested candidates will be able to apply for RRB JE Recruitment 2019 from January 2, 2019 to January 31. However, the application fee can be paid till first week of February 2019.

Posts that are being offered are: Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMS). Posts across different zones will be filled through respective Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). Candidates can apply online on the website of the respective zone of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).

Junior Engineer: 13,034 Posts

Junior Engineer (Information Technology): 49 Posts

Depot Material Superintendent: 456 Posts

Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant: 494 Posts

RRB JE Recruitment 2019: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Engineering in relevant disciplines prescribed against various posts of Junior Engineer. For Junior Engineer (Information Technology), candidates must have PGDCA/B.Sc (Computer Science)/BCA/ B.Tech (Information Technology)/ B.Tech (Computer Science)/DOEACC ‘B’ Level Course of 3 years duration or equivalent from recognised university/institute. Diploma/Degree in engineering from any discipline is required for Depot Material Superintendent post. Bachelors degree in science with physics and chemistry with a minimum of 45% marks is needed for Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant post. 

Age Limit: The age of the candidate should be between 18 to 31 years as on January 1, 2019. OBC applicants will get age relaxation of 3 years and SC/ST applicants will get relaxation of 5 years, as per the government rules.
