A complaint box installed by the police near Shirke Apartment in Kengeri helped them on Monday arrest a rowdy-sheeter for illegally refilling LPG cylinders. The police also seized 14 cylinders.

Kengeri police inspector KP Sathyanarayan has launched an initiative to keep complaint boxes at various places under his jurisdiction to understand problems faced by the public. The police used to open the complaint boxes once in a week. On Sunday, they opened the box which was kept near Shirke Apartment and found a complaint about an illegal gas refilling racket run by the owner of a mobile recharge shop near the apartment.

The police raided the shop and arrested Doddegowda alias Doreswamy alias Dore, who has been staying at Shirke Apartment. According to the police, Doddegowda, a rowdy-sheeter, was refilling LPG cylinders without permission. The police also seized 14 gas cylinders. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
