In one incident, Rs1 lakh was stolen from a woman, while in the other,  a gold chain was stolen.

According to Ellisbridge police, one Jaya Rajput, a resident of Narmadnagar, Ranip, has registered a case with them.

The complainant said that she and her mother got into a shared auto-rickshaw, with six passengers, at an ST bus stand on Monday morning. As the rickshaw neared VS Hospital, the driver reportedly requested the two to get down saying that only six passengers were allowed to travel at one go.

He said the police would harass him if he ferried more people. After they got down they realised that the Rs1 lakh they had been carrying with them had gone missing.

In another incident, Indu Manilal, a resident of Hariom Park, Thaltej, lodged a case with Ghatlodia police. In the complaint, she said that she was travelling in a shared auto-rickshaw which was on its way to Indraprasth Tower in Drive-in.
